Hypertrichosis

Hypertrichosis is a localised or generalized excessive growth of hair beyond the accepted limits of normal for a particular age, sex and race. The hair growth are terminal, vellus or lanugo. As hypertrichosis is a problem of appearance, it may cause emotional stress and social ostracism. Although hypertrichosis is a cosmetic problem,it is also important for representing a cutaneous sign of an underlying systemic disease.
